Description
The Liberian Music Awards ceremony is a premier effort promoting the rich Liberian music worldwide, thus reaching out to millions of fans, and propelling African music to glorious pinnacles beyond the four corners of Africa. It is our main aim to constantly endeavour to showcase to the rest of the world the wealth of talent Liberian Acts have to offer.
THE GENESIS
Founded in 2008, the Liberian Musician Union and LMA serves as the face and voice for the Liberia community worldwide and is dedicated to exposing, promoting and celebrating the music through Africa-fusion music of all styles.
It is by no means a competition but an event that honours and recognises talented and hard working Liberian artistes based in Africa and in the diaspora. Recognition is also given to organisations and other media entities who seek to promote Liberian Music and artistes.
The first Awards celebration was held in Monrovia, Liberia, March of of 2009.
MISSION
*To facilitate the exposure, promotion and celebration of the arts through music and fusions.
*Make African Liberian music a mass appeal genre.
*Identify, and recognize hidden musical talents in order to give them mentorship and needed exposure.
*Provide opportunity to learn about the rich musical heritage of Liberia.
*To promote moral values through the medium of Music
*Embarking on community development programs and supporting deprived communities through collaborative action
LMA COMMUNITY & SPONSORS
The lma community consists of over 1,000,000 members and affiliates which include agents, artists, church leaders, artiste managers, promoters, radio personnel, record company executives, retailers, songwriters, and other industry visionaries.
